HOCKEY CANADA'S SUMMER SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CAMP RETURNING TO NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR FOR A FIFTH YEAR

Hockey Canada’s Atlantic Regional Centre will be returning to Newfoundland and Labrador this summer with their Hockey Canada Summer Skills Development Camp.  The camp will run from August 23-27, 2010 in Mount Pearl at the Smallwood Arena. Built on the model of the very successful Hockey Canada Skills Development Camps which have been taking place throughout the country for the past thirteen seasons, the camp will offer minor hockey players in the Novice, Atom and PeeWee categories an opportunity to be a member of “Team Canada” for five days.

This will be the fifth year for this very successful week long Skills Development experience.Participants will take part in a variety of on-ice and off-ice activities aimed at skill development with an emphasis on having fun.  Instructors for the camp will be comprised of experienced coaches from both Hockey Canada and Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador.  In addition to these coaches, there will be various junior hockey players in attendance to offer their assistance and support to the participants.

Parent from the 2009 Summer Skills Development Camp “First of all I would like to extend a huge Thank-You to you and your team for including my son into your hockey camp in Mount Pearl. He really enjoyed the whole experience and is already asking if there will be another camp next summer. The whole experience at the camp was very enjoyable, educational and above all rewarding for the both of us. It was the first ever camp that I’ve entered my son into and I definitely had no regrets!”

Interested players and parents can receive more information on the Hockey Canada Summer Skills Development Camp by contacting Paul Dagg at Hockey Canada’s Atlantic Regional Centre at (506) 642-0490 or pdagg@hockeycanada.ca
